Irish electricity company ESB (Electricity Supply Board) has implemented cloud-based offerings from Ariba, aimed at transforming its purchase order and invoice management processes and streamlining them into an automated way to reduce errors, speed approvals and drive savings.

Councils Decide to Stop Sharing

In a move which underlines the need for careful planning prior to implementing shared service operations, Hambleton and Richmondshire councils have announced that they are going to stop sharing some existing services including IT and other "back office" operations. Two neighbouring councils in North Yorkshire have agreed to "separate" some existing services after deciding that the existing arrangement wasn't working. The councils initially started sharing services in 2009.

Centrica selects OB10 to provide e-Invoicing solutions

A Lancashire part-time accounts assistant has been found guilty of de-frauding her organisation of more than £122,000 by using fake invoices, which she marked as paid and then placed the funds into her own account. Most of the 122 fraudulant transactions, occurring over a four year period, were then used to fund her lavish wedding.
