 Andrew Burgess - Leading thinker on robotics and artificial intelligence

Andrew has worked as an advisor to C-level executives in Technology and Sourcing for the past 20 years. He is a strategic advisor to a number of ambitious companies, particularly in the fields of Robotic Process Automation and Artificial Intelligence. He is also considered a leading expert in the Legal Transformation market and has written a book, ‘The Rise of Legal Services Outsourcing’ (Bloomsbury) in collaboration with the London School of Economics. He is considered a thought-leader and practitioner in Artificial Intelligence and is regularly invited to speak at conferences on the subject. He is a prolific writer on the ‘future of work’ both in his popular weekly newsletter and in industry magazines and blogs. He also writes a weekly publication "Space Cadet Glow" on the topics of science, psychology and culture.

Jim Hemmington - Director of Procurement, BBC

Jim is Director of Procurement at the BBC, responsible for the external spend of £1.5 billion p.a. on goods and services, including outsourced services contracts such as Transmission, TV Licensing and Audience Services.   In addition to buying in goods and services, Jim also co-ordinates the contract management activity governing the BBC’s major contracts and ensures best practice relationship management in the delivery of these contracts throughout their lifecycle. He is currently responsible for delivering major savings initiatives in the BBC to support the BBC’s funding challenges over the next licence fee period.

Jim has been in various roles in procurement and contract management within the BBC and works closely with senior business managers across the organisation.  Before joining the BBC he spent most of his career in a number of Government Departments, including the Cabinet Office and Department of the Environment.


Michael Ryan - Director Finance Transformation & Shared Services

Michael Ryan is an experienced Finance Transformation Consultant with over 20 years experience in managing change. He has a unique blend of front line industry experience in addition to Big 4 Consulting background. Working on multiple Finance Transformation initiatives Michael specialises in Shared Services.
