Montessori CEO charged with invoice fraud

Wednesday 23rd March, 2016

City of London Police have charged Philip Bujak, 56, from West Sussex with false accounting, two counts of conspiracy to defraud and two counts of fraud by false representation.

Bujak was appointed in 2003 as Chief Executive Officer of the Montessori St Nicholas Charity, the main charity for Montessori in the UK, representing 676 Montessori nurseries and schools.

The charges relate to an investigation into a number of fraud offences committed against the charity over a period of at least 7 years (during 2007 – 2013). These include allegations of corporate credit card fraud and invoice fraud.

They also relate to conspiring with others to make personal financial gain to the detriment of Montessori from the sale of a London school building.

Bujak and with his fellow conspirators will make their first appearance at City of London Magistrate Court on 18th April.
